‘Singularity’ is the latest album from one of today’s most inventive beatmakers - catch92, releasing via Folded Music with ten tracks that redefine what modern beatmaking can be. 

Frustrated by predictable sounds and the limitations of traditional sampling, catch92 has pushed boundaries in an innovative and novel way, utilising AI to create unique source sounds from his imagination in seconds, he then deconstructed and resampled using his established beatmaking approach and SP404 workflow. Adding a new dimension to his creative process, this method allows him to unlock musical ideas that were previously out of reach.

His impressive ability to adapt and innovate is backed by an expertise in production and an ever-changing creative process that is rooted in his belief that embracing technology opens the door to new artistic horizons.

With a catalogue that has amassed millions of streams, his music continues to resonate with a global audience. He has been consistently featured on prominent Spotify playlists including Lofi Beats, Chill Instrumental Beats, Jazz Vibes, Jazzy Beats, and Ambient X. His previous album ‘Patchwork’ received over 20 plays on BBC Radio 6, spanning five different shows and had tracks playlisted on French tastemaker station FIP that garnered hundreds of spins in the process. More recently, he has also gained heavy support on Apple Music, with two tracks selected for the Study Beats playlist.

His work has also garnered notable international support from other leading tastemaker stations such as BBC Radio 1, KEXP, KCRW, France Inter, and RadioEins among others.

With ‘Singularity’, catch92 steers his sound into a more electronica and UKG infused direction, bringing in 2-step rhythms and adventurous textures that signal an exciting new chapter of further musical territories. His album includes highlights like ‘Synergy’, where the artist collaborates with longtime friend and label mate - Fthmlss, creating a new forward thinking lo-fi electronica track merging dusty sonics and modern sound design. A track inspired by both their past aesthetics and future influences.

It follows with ‘Download’, which marks a continued expansion of catch92’s evolving sound. The track blends vocal-led, 2-step-inspired electronica with intricate rhythms and a distinctive bassline that leaves a lasting impression and gets folks moving. Elsewhere we have ‘Connected’ which is an almost tribal future beat that guarantees head nodding. 

But beyond its sound, ‘Singularity’ is a bold statement on where technology meets artistry and how the two can live together to further culture.

“The attraction for me here is that the samples will never have been used before and will never be used again - it takes an art form I love, and have always tried to push the boundaries of, and gives it a new and unique edge. What excites me most? These samples will never exist again. No recycled loops, no overused presets—just something truly unique, crafted from an art form I’ve spent years pushing to its limits.Each track on ‘Singularity’ carries a trace of the machine, but its soul remains human.”

Catch92 is a UK producer whose music moves between sample-driven hip-hop, downtempo electronics, UK garage and experimental beat music.

His approach was shaped by formative years immersed in the energy of DnB basements and 140 sound systems, before reconnecting with the hip-hop production that first sparked his interest in making music. Rather than settling into one fixed sound, Catch92 has continued to reshape those influences through sampling, electronic production and an instinctive approach to rhythm, texture and atmosphere.

With continued support from Folded Music, Catch92 has built growing momentum across the electronic music landscape. His work has received editorial playlist support across Apple Music and Spotify, alongside international radio play from BBC Radio 6 Music, KEXP, KCRW, FIP, Radio Campus, Jazz FM and others.

His album 'Patchwork' marked an important breakthrough. Standout track 'Anor' received more than 20 plays on BBC Radio 6 Music, while 'Break It' secured support from FIP Nouveautés and Spotify’s Chill Instrumental Beats playlist. The Warm Up EP continued that progression, receiving support from BBC Radio 6 Music, Jazz FM and Apple Music editorials including Study Beats and New in Electronic.

Catch92’s album 'Singularity' represents a further evolution in his sound, bringing together electronic experimentation, broken rhythms and the emotional weight that has remained consistent throughout his work. Lead single 'Adapt' received support from Apple Music editorials including Study Beats, New in Electronic and The Lounge. Follow-up releases 'Synergy' and 'Download' gained further editorial playlist support, while the album’s title track was selected for Apple Music’s Loops playlist alongside artists including Overmono, Fred again.. and Max Cooper.

The album also explores the changing relationship between technology and human creativity. Using generated source material as a starting point, Catch92 reshaped, sampled and reconstructed sounds through his established production process, treating technology not as a replacement for authorship but as another creative tool to question and transform.

Alongside his artist project, Catch92 is the founder of Ground Loop CIC, a community-focused initiative creating accessible music workshops, creative spaces and development opportunities. The project extends the same values found throughout his music: experimentation, connection and authentic creative expression.
